latest stable release: 5.0 download changelog
October 10, 2006: The oncoming version has a new exciting feature. It's capable of keeping 2 databases updated at the same time. When one of the database goes down, CRM-CTT will keep working without any interruption. When the malfunctioning database is up again, CRM-CTT will automatically replicate all updates to make sure the other database is up-to-date again. The already updated manual describes this cool new feature in chapter 14. Grab the RC2 build!
Release candidate 1 of CRM-CTT 3.4.3 is now available for download in the project download directory. Because of the impact of this version carefully read the UPGRADING file!
Please give us feedback about this release!
In the next version, HTML forms will become the standard. All existing default forms will be converted to an HTML form which will be installed during the upgrade routine. This HTML form looks a little different than you're users are used to. We recommend to create your own HTML-form before taking this version into production...
The focus of the coming version, 3.4.1, will be peformance, some additions to FormFinity and some bug fixing. The performance improvements are accomplished by extensive intelligent caching which makes loading large pages lots faster:
php -q update_cache.php -c CRMDEMO Test duration NO CACHE: 87.764952898 Test duration CACHE: 6.79537987709
Promising, isn't it?
The main focus in this release is FormFinity, which enables entities to have their own HTML forms. Users (and profiles) can be authorized to use only a specific set of forms. When a user with rights to multiple forms wants to add an entity, he/she gets to choose from the available forms. The resulting entity will always show up in that form. There are numerous other new features, bugfixes, security improvements, and even some increased performance.
The 3.4.0 pre-release was placed in the project download directory at http://download.crm-ctt.com/. It was not yet placed on SourceForge, this will be done later. Please mail your findings!
Starting with version 3.4.0, CRM-CTT offers FormFinity. With FormFinity, an entity has it's own form, and it will always present itself in that form. Next to that, users can get acces to a set of forms (in their personal profile, or by group policy) so that they will be presented with a list of forms to choose from. This also goes for limited (insert-only) users. Now it's really possible to use CRM-CTT for helpdesk tickets and coffee orders at the same time!
The latest version of CRM-CTT is now available for download. It introduces RSS Feeds which can be used to keep track of entities using every possible RSS-compatible program. Next to that, entities can now have parent-entities and child-entities. This enables the user to organise his/her work more efficiently. Under the hood, this version also supports LDAP Authentication support. Users can now be limited (by user or profile) to working with only a given list of customers. All other entities will be hidden. Happy CRM-CTT'ing!
Oct. 10, 2005: Version 3.3.1. contains a nasty little bug; when editing user profiles, the form doensn't always display the values as they are stored in the database. Make sure that, when editing a user, you always check all fields before hitting the save button!
This version introduces templated ticket forms. Using this, you are able to model your own entity (ticket) forms using your own layout. Form templates are modelled using the built-in rich-text editor. Also new in this version is user profile support and support for HTTP REALM authentication. Tooltips to help the administrator navigate through the the administration section were added, and massive performance improvements were achieved for installations with lots of extra fields.
August 6th, 2005. The new version of CRM-CTT, 3.3.0, will support a totally new feature, which certainly makes CRM-CTT the most versatile tool around. You will be able to model your own entity forms - this means that you are totally in control of the layout of the form, including the location of form-fields, icons, upload boxes, etcetera.
Using the known HTML-editor, you can model the forms using the same tags as you use for other templates. There are four types of entity forms which you can create yourself:
June 26th, 2005: This version supports adding and appending e-mails from any POP3-mailbox to an entity, both system-wide and personal. A trigger was added to also send mails when a due-date is reached. The administrator now can create custom navigation-tabs linking to any URL within or outside CRM-CTT. The invoice routine got a makeover, and adjusting the status, priority or duedate by limited can now disabled. Together with this version, a new project site is launched at a new address: http://www.crm-ctt.com. changelog!
As far as we can see, companies all over the world (records from Western Europe, Eastern Europe, USA, Asia, South America, Russia and Australia) are now using CRM-CTT to organize their day-to-day business, and a little motivation now and then would be nice... So, admins: try and convince your boss to donate a little and point him/her to the sf.net donation page for CRM-CTT.
