At SourceForge you'll find three different packages, but they all contain Interleave.

Packages ending with .tgz	TAR/GZIP packed files (UNIX/Linux)
Packages ending with .zip	ZIP packed files (Windows)
VMWare images (also ending with .zip)	These are images of VMWare disks. Using the free VMWare player you can just boot up this image and run Interleave out-of-the-box. Because this package contains a (Linux) operating system, a webserver and a database, it is quite big. The 4.0.1 release is about 100MB.

In the project download directory you can find two other types: the MAX-build and the nightly development snapshot. MAX-builds are exactly the same as normal stable builds, however all debug and trace code is removed from it. This makes this build a little faster, but on the other hand chasing problems is not that easy without debug information. We recommend to only use MAX builds for very heavy loads or when you own very slow hardware.

The nightly development snapshot is prepared daily. It's for your review only, you should never use it for production.
